Tom Swindal

Tom Swindal is a producer, engineer, remixer, DJ and music enthusiast. He works in Drum and Bass, Dub Step, Hip Hop, Electro, Ambient and various other genres whilst maintaining high standards of sound. Growing up listening to early dance music this created a passion, hunger and obsession to discover as much music as possible without discrimination to genre or style. Inspired by pioneers like Dr Dre, Ram Records, Vangelis, Eminem, Kate Bush, Dillinja, Aphex Twin, Lee Scratch Perry, INXS, Eurhythmics, Enigma and Nitin Sawhney to name a few. After hearing great music he had to be involved in some way.

The next step was to save for turntables and practice religiously until the opportunity came to DJ at various events with some of the elite in the DJ community. Around the same time an interest in music production began to form, with no musical experience the only option was to figure out the basics using budget software and then recording songs onto cassettes to use as stepping stones to advancement. This eventually led to investing in more serious equipment whilst reading books, magazines and manuals cover to cover and discovering a passion to find more knowledge at workshops, college and university. All whilst disciplining himself to work all the hours available crafting and perfecting music, learning music theory, piano, guitar and keeping a finger on the pulse of technology and anything music related. Now, the hunger remains and keeps getting stronger to advance in music and reach new audiences.

Tom Swindal has always wanted his music to be played by people to connect to them the sort of emotion he was trying to convey whilst inspiring them and exposing new music to them. This is what caused his involvement in music. It’s something that satisfies him, to constantly up his game to achieve the ultimate sound and reflect the music that has inspired him.
